When: Sunday, August 31. 7-9 PM.
Where: Shir Tikvah Temple, 50th and Girard, South Minneapolis.
What: Michael Lerner will be speaking about the Global Marshall Plan (GMP). By dedicating 1-2% of the GDP of the United States and other G-8 nations we can eradicate world hunger, poverty, inadequate education, inadequate healthcare and repair the environment. This plan has recently been introduced as a resolution in the house of representatives and we are excited about the impact it could have. Michael will elaborate on the details of this plan, why this is a path to national security. $10 donation.

March on the RNC to Stop the War - Rally and March
Organized by the Coalition to March on the RNC and Stop the War
Permitted nonviolent demonstration.
When: Monday, September 1. Anticipated March stepoff: 11 AM.
Where: Minnesota State Capitol grounds, St. Paul.
What: Rally followed by a March to the Xcel Center in downtown St. Paul, site of the Republican National Convention. The march will start and end on the state capitol grounds.

When: anticipated time: from 1 pm to 8 pm
What: an interactive peace-themed picnic that will feature a diverse array of great musicians and artistic expressions, all broadly themed around the need for peace in the world.
Who: Several musicians and musical groups of diverse ethnicity and music style who are committed to the cause of peace in the broadest sense: civil, social and environmental justice, are interested in performing at our picnic and we know the list of musicians will grow.

The UnConvention is a non-partisan collective of citizens who have come together to create a forum in which to promote the democratic and free exchange of ideas on important issues. Their mission is to umbrella the myriad artistic and educational activities (exhibitions, lectures, performances, etc.) that will take place in the Twin Cities during the lead-up and staging of the 2008 Republican National Convention and to host the alternative media that will converge on the Twin Cities during the Convention.
