Ron Bowen
Founder and President, Prairie Restorations, Inc.
Ron Bowen founded Prairie Restorations (PRI) in 1977, which is dedicated to the production and use of native plants and plant communities.

PRI has successfully collected “local ecotypes” (native seed) of the primary prairie species and expanded them into production fields so the seed can be harvested and used for restoration projects throughout Minnesota and annual revenues in excess of $4 million, which are generated from seed and plant sales as well as installation and management services.

Ron Bowen received a B.S. in forestry from the University of Minnesota and was the recipient of the 1983 Bush Fellowship to pursue graduate studies in landscape architecture at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

PRI has restored thousands of acres of prairie, woodland, and wetlands and has completed hundred of projects throughout the Midwest. They were the 1998 recipient of the Land Stewardship Award from the Minnesota Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
