Lisa Ledwidge
Institute for Energy and Environmental Research
Lisa Ledwidge serves as Outreach Director of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research. She will speak about IEER's recent work, Carbon-Free and Nuclear-Free: Roadmap for US Energy Policy, which shows how the United States can move from its current 90-plus percent reliance on fossil fuels and nuclear energy to none by mid-century.

Lisa has been working on nuclear-related energy, environmental, and security issues for 12 years.

She received her B.S. in Biology from Eastern Michigan University and two Master's degrees, one in Environmental Science and one in Public Affairs, from Indiana University.

She telecommutes from Minneapolis, where she lives with her husband, son, and two cats.

The Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (IEER) is a Takoma Park, Maryland-based non-profit and non-partisan technical institute that provides literature with a quality equal to that in scientific journals, but that doesn't require a degree in science to understand. IEER's audience is the determined activist concerned about global warming and nuclear weapons, the engaged policy-maker, and the knowledgeable journalist.

IEER's two main campaigns are the Carbon-Free, Nuclear-Free campaign, which seeks to achieve U.S. policies that will phase out both fossil fuels and nuclear power by 2050, and the Healthy from the Start campaign, which seeks to shift the focus of radiation exposure standards from "Reference Man" to those most at risk.
